Reds 3, Phillies 2....

Another weekend come and gone...for some reason, we seem to be getting less sleep during the weekends than the weekdays. Friday night, I slept a grand total of 3.5 hours...
So Saturday morning, me and the wife went to Jungle Jim's...got lots of delicious food.
Sylvia took a nap after we got back; I finished up a review paper on a quite interesting book: The Origin of Consciousness and the Breakdown of The Bicameral Mind - link. Here's a quick FAQ on the book.

Q: What's it about?
A: The author (a pscyhology professor from Princeton University), theorizes that in ancient times, human beings were not conscious, and that the conscious, subjective mind developed only due to certain socio-cultural factors, starting in the mid-to-late second millennium.

Q: Are you a geek?
A: Yes. Yes I am.

Anyways, Saturday afternoon, we went to DG and Tiffany's house. They fed us steak. Those are four beautiful words, are they not? After dinner, we went to see the Reds play the Phillies...thanks to some free tickets. Some pics of what went down...

Sushi the cat...and me...hungry...

Picking a big booger

Sylvia, Tiffany and DG at the Reds game - the cotton candy dude looked just like Screech from Saved by The Bell. And if you don't know who that is...well, shame on you.

right...

view from the seats - were they high up? Heck yeah. How much did we pay - nothing

still high up...

Your 2005 Home Run Derby champion, Bobby Abreu - I think. I was getting dizzy in the thin air... Posted by Picasa

A recap of the game - Jason LaRue had a RBI single, Adam Dunn hit a two run bomb, Rich Aurilia missed a grand salami by a few feet (flew out to the edge of the warning track) and the Reds hung on for a 3-2 win. All of which means...not much for the Reds, other than they got to play spoiler in the NL Wild Card chase.

Time to go - Iron Chef is on.

Dang....again....

So, in my last post, I celebrated the wonders that are my sisters and brothers-in-law, who, as memory will have it, sent me a beautiful gift. Well, days after I got the iPod mini, Apple decides that it will discontinue it, and start selling the iPodnano. Oh well - what's a boy to do - nothing, right? WRONG! My amazing brother-in-law, Yoon Lee, rides to the rescue, calls up Apple, gives them several pieces of his mind, and minutes later, they decide to right the wrong...and send me a new iPodnano...(should be here by next week).

Yoon Lee - I salute you.
